THE GUILTED AGE
A short film set in Texas in 1890, exploring reproductive rights. The film premiered at DIFF Shorts in Texas in October 2025, had its European premiere at Crystal Palace International Film Festival in London in March 2026, and was selected for NewFilmmakers Los Angeles in May. It was also shortlisted for Austin Film Festival, and will be released online later this year.
Written and directed by me, the film was shot in London and produced by Mad Cow Films and Milk Machine. As a period drama centred on women’s rights, we made a conscious effort to build a production team with women in many of the key production roles. We also had Caren Spruch, Director of Arts & Entertainment Engagement at Planned Parenthood US, advise on the script.
